Jesus Christ was born a Jew, became a prophet of Islam, is one of the 330 million Hindu Gods, and is of course the main man for Christians. Today we are celebrating his birthday, which comes shortly after the Pagan New Year (otherwise known as the Winter Solstice). We are sat on a beach in Cambodia (a Buddhist country), looking out onto a beautiful horizon.
Nikki hasn’t had a chance to make a Christmas wreath this year, so we decorated the door with a gekko.
Snowmen are not a viable option, but sandmen are.
We are, of course, thinking of family and friends back in the UK. And we have been making new friends along the way. Having met Chris and Zillah on a street corner in Hanoi, we bumped into them on Otres beach in Cambodia two months later and over 1,000 miles away – we are getting used to these kinds of coincidences.
Jesus was famous for turning water into wine, so cheers everyone!
He was also famous for chucking the money changers out of the temple, so perhaps a less materialistic take on Christmas is the way to go.
Merry Christmas everyone.
‘God is love’ John 4:16

Thanks Patsy. So lovely to hear from you. As much as we have been enjoying cocktails on the beach this Christmas day, the idea of a warm kitchen filled with the aroma of roast turkey sounds very appealing. We will drink a toast to you too.
Much love. Patrick and Nikki xx
